Signing in
Anvil signs in with an access token. In Forgejo, open Settings → Applications, make a token
with read and write access to repositories, issues, notifications and user, then paste it into
Anvil along with your server's address, like https://codeberg.org.
To look around first, enter a server address, leave the token blank and tap Browse as Guest.
Self-signed certificates and home servers
Anvil connects to servers on your own network, including plain http:// addresses. If your
server uses a self-signed certificate, Anvil shows its fingerprint and only trusts it after you
accept. If the certificate changes, Anvil asks again.
Which servers work?
Anvil is built and tested against Forgejo 16 and 17, including Codeberg.
Notifications
Turn on Alerts When Away in Anvil's settings. Anvil checks your server for new notifications in the background, so how often depends on iOS.
Signing out and removing data
Signing out of an account removes its token and cached copies. Deleting the app removes everything. Anvil has no account of its own, so there's nothing else to delete.
